His Holiness the Dalai Lama is unable to travel due to ill health. His scheduled appearances at UCLA on Monday, May 2, have been cancelled.

However, the afternoon symposium in Royce Hall will go ahead without the Dalai Lama's participation. Geshe Thupten Jinpa, a principal English translator for His Holiness and Ph.D. in Religious Studies (Cambridge University), will join the discussion with UCLA neuroscientists.

Ticket Purchase: Online ticket sales to the general public begin on Wednesday, March 16, at 8:00 a.m. Tickets may also be purchased at the UCLA Central Ticket Office beginning at 10:00 a.m., in person or by telephone.

UCLA students, faculty and staff must purchase their specially-priced tickets at the UCLA Central Ticket Office box office (see below for ticket availability and pricing.) Ticket sales begin Wednesday, March 16, at 10:00 a.m. Please bring your UCLA Bruincard to be scanned.

Transactions:

  • Ticket sales are final and nonrefundable.
  • Lost or stolen tickets will not be replaced.
  • The resale of tickets is not permitted; nor is the copying, altering, or counterfeiting of tickets. UCLA reserves the right to revoke a re-sold, altered or counterfeited, or duplicated ticket.
  • Tickets are valid only for the event, date, and time noted on the ticket.
  • If the event is cancelled, the ticket face value only will be refunded, not applicable ticketing service charges.
  • Please note that the charge on your credit card statement will read, "UCLA Tickets."
  • There will be no admittance for guests arriving late, and tickets will not be refunded for late-arriving guests.
  • Guests unable to purchase a ticket will not be allowed entry.

Event General Conditions:

  • All guests will be subject to a security search.
  • Please bring a photo ID. Students should bring UCLA Bruincard ID.
  • All cell phones must be turned off during all events.
  • No audio, video or photography will be allowed in the venue.
  • Anyone engaging in dangerous or disruptive behavior may be removed from the venue and will not be granted a refund of the ticket price.
  • Ticket buyer/holder voluntarily agrees that UCLA, its agents, officers, directors, employees, faculty, students, and volunteers are released by the buyer/holder from any claims incidental to the event or purpose for which the ticket is issued.
  • Use of a ticket to gain entry shall be deemed a consent to the above conditions.
